Traveling photos from Iowa to Ukraine, via Germany and Hungary. This was my first trip to Europe, and it was an experience of a lifetime. During our 14 hour layover in Frankfurt, Germany, we decided to do a little site-seeing. This street is called Große Eschenheimer Straße, and I have no idea how to pronounce that in German! But this street led us to a very unique building, that you can sort of see in the left of the photo. It is called Schenheimer Turm, or Tower, and is an original tower gate from the castle in the 1400s! The city of Frankfurt recently did construction to move the street around the Turm, and create a pedestrian zone around it. (More of story coming soon.)
Photo taken with iPhone 4 in Iowa, on my way to Germany, October 2013.
